Omani Villa
Home owners of Muscat’s elite Midnate Qaboos (Muscat, Sultanate of Oman), are testing the mood of the municipality in their bid for personal style. Int. view of ain ground floor reception area with dinning area in background.

Here is a building that encompasses traditional concepts of Omani architecture whilst breaking with the un-written rule that you can paint your home any colour so long as it’s white! The building uses traditional high-level openings not to channel heat out of the interior keeping it cool and dark as in the past, but to channel light in, making the interior bright and spacious. Oman has recently experienced adverse climatic conditions; storm shutters at the flick of a switch seal this building.
